TGIF, right?! This short week sure did feel like a long one to me! I can’t wait for fun and sun this weekend. But first, I need to discuss an important topic…a yummy summer drink! Now, when I think of summer drinks I think of pina coladas, rosé, and of course margaritas! Basically anything that would perfect sipping by the pool on a hot day or for a fun summer gathering with family and friends.
Recently, Ian and I have been on a total Mezcal kick. Whenever we are out and there is a Mezcal drink on the menu, we HAVE to try it. It adds the perfect smoky flavor to any drink…especially margaritas!
That being said, we were out a few months ago and had an amazing Mezcal margarita! It was so good that we were inspired to recreate it at home. Boy, did Ian come up with a good recipe!! No yucky margarita mix, and super easy to put together, this is one will be making all summer long!
Ian’s Mezcal Margarita
- 2 limes (you want about 1.5 ounces of fresh juice)
- Grand Marnier (1 ounce)
- Mezcal (2 ounces)
- Lime wedge
1. Squeeze lime juice out of lime until you have about 1.5 ounces. Put into a margarita glass.
2. Add 1 ounce of Grand Marnier and 2 ounces of Mezcal to the lime juice.
3. Mix together, add ice, and garnish with a lime wedge.
4. Happy sipping!
