Oh HELLO December!! Wow…this year has flown by. It’s only been about 3 months since I got the hang of writing 2017 on everything (anyone else?!). Anyway, the holiday season is here and I am SO ready. I have been listening to Christmas music since November 1st after all!
I spent last weekend back home in New Orleans for a family wedding and it was just the best. Family, friends, and the city getting geared up for the holidays. I’ll be back home in three weeks for Christmas and I already can’t wait.
Here are a few things I’ve been loving:
Y’all I honestly have never really been a big pasta person, but something changed in the past two years or so and now I. LOVE. PASTA. I have been loving it so much that I had to find an alternative…because I shouldn’t eat pasta twice a day, right?! Well, Banza is pasta made from chickpeas so it has twice the protein and 4x the fiber. And honestly, it does have a different taste, but I love it! Even Ian likes it, so it’s a win!
I’ll be doing a full post on how I decorated this year, but here is a sneak peek!
One of my favorite memories of this time of year is driving around with my family looking at all the holiday decorations. We would make hot cocoa, wear our pajamas, and ride through the neighborhood listening to Christmas music. There was a neighborhood contest for the best front door decorations so we would always HAVE to find the winning houses. We have our share of first place ribbons, too 🙂
So still to this day, holiday decorations always bring a smile to my face. I can’t wait to have a house so I can decorate the exterior. Maybe like this…
A girl can dream, right??
All Things Velvet
I have seriously been on a velvet kick lately. Some things I’ve been loving are this velvet tank top, these velvet block heels, and I HAD to pick up these velvet leggings. It’s an easy way to feel extra festive!
I have always wanted to learn the art of calligraphy and I am going to make it one of my goals for 2018! I have started practicing my letters with some beginner worksheets, but I can’t wait to hopefully take some classes and learn more!
Today Show Cancer Super Heroes
Okay, this was on a few weeks ago but it has been on my favorites list ever since! The Today Show featured a group of kids with cancer and helped transform them into their superhero alter egos. Definitely a tear-jerker, but so sweet!
Have a happy Wednesday!
